Pirate Helmsman

For this project, I created a skeleton pirate helmsman animatronic inspired by the famous Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland. Using wood from the hardware store I was able to create the broken boards of the ship the pirate will be standing on. I finish attaching the wiper motor used to turn the wheel to the steering column. I had to switch from using a stepper motor attached to a rotating chain, to a more powerful wiper motor. The motor drives an arm that is attached to the wheel which brings the wheel to move back and forth. Below are images and videos of the steps I took to complete the project.
