JetPack Experience

Why a jetpack?
Few ideas capture the imagination like the thought of strapping on a jetpack and soaring into the sky. Flying over cityscapes or gliding across wide open fields is an experience that resonates with both young and old. The Jetpack Experience was designed to deliver that wonder—giving every guest the thrill of individual flight without feeling confined in a traditional ride vehicle.
Theming & Storyline
The adventure begins in the queue, set within the corridors of an industrial testing facility. Guests are “invited” to participate in prototype trials of a new jetpack design. Along the way, they encounter technical documents, photos, and test notes tracing the evolution of jetpack technology. Through glimpses into the ride area, they can see other riders in flight, building anticipation.
From there, guests enter one of two load bays, each themed as a testing hangar. Four riders at a time are strapped into jetpacks, preparing for liftoff.
Ride System
The ride vehicle is inspired by Dynamic Attractions’ robotic arm technology, but with a unique twist. The arms are suspended from an overhead track, with individual robotic “fingers” holding each jetpack seat.
Each seat resembles a strapped-on jetpack with an overhead harness for safety. The robotic fingers allow independent movement, giving riders a more personal flight experience. Built-in vibration, vertical motion, and a 3D face shield with integrated visuals further immerse guests in the feeling of flight.
Ride Experience
Launch & Malfunction
After boarding, the jetpacks move into the hangar bay. With the countdown complete, riders lift off—only for a sudden malfunction to send them off course and into the first show building.Show Building 1: Fields & Streams
Riders break free of the facility and soar across open landscapes filled with wheat fields and flowing streams. Practical mist effects simulate water spray. A system failure triggers a backward fall simulation until riders “restart” their jetpacks and regain control.Show Building 2: City Flight
The experience transitions into a bustling city. Guests weave between skyscrapers, flying close to glass façades where cameras project their reflections in real time. A second failure plunges riders backward before they stabilize and continue onward.Show Building 3: Farm Finale
Riders head toward farmland, where mission control attempts a safe landing on a barn roof. Instead, the roof collapses, sending them crashing into the hay loft. Dust, smoke, and hay effects sell the impact before the final descent to the ground. Guests disembark through a farm-themed exit path while the vehicles reset for the next group.
Adaptability
Although conceived as an original concept, the ride system and show flow are designed with flexibility in mind. The framework could be adapted to overlay existing intellectual properties while preserving the immersive, individualized jetpack flight experience..
